Bradley “Brad” L. Shireman, 71, of rural Bluffs passed away Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2022, at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy. He was born, April 4, 1950, in Carrollton, the son of Jess F. and Mildred M. McGlauchlen Shireman. Brad and Sandra D. Rolf were united in marriage, Sept. 15, 1972, in Bluffs. Surviving is his wife, Sandra Shireman of Bluffs; daughter, Jody Shireman of Jacksonville; siblings, Russ Shireman of Carrollton, Lyndal (Sue) Shireman of Pittsfield, Charlie (Pam) Shireman of Chapin, Dwight Shireman of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Brad in death were his parents and siblings, Mae Shaw, Geanne Uitterback, Don McGlauchlen, Mike Shireman, Jerry Shireman, Dale Shireman, and Roger Shireman. He was an US Army veteran. Brad was very proud to have served 2 ½ tours of duty during the Vietnam war. Brad was awarded the purple heart for injuries he sustained during the conflict. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church near Bluffs. Brad was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed woodworking with his daughter, Jody, farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, mushrooming, and working on antique tractors with his father-in-law, Verlin Rolf and Richard Hembrough. He loved babies and toddlers and often had his picture taken with the little ones he loved so much. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Bluffs with interment in the Trinity Cemetery near Bluffs. The family will greet friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Quincy Veteran’s Home Activity fund.
