Deborah Lynn “Deb” Mills, 57, of Bluffs passed quietly from this life early Friday Aug. 2, 2013 at her home in Bluffs. She was born June 29, 1956 in Jacksonville, the daughter of James Everett and Frances Charlene Bailey Merriman. Rev. Bruce Pilcher married Deborah and Charles Henry Mills II Oct. 26, 1991 in Jacksonville. Surviving is her husband, Charles of Bluffs; daughters, Shannon E. Kilver of Oxville and Amber L. Mills of Bluffs; step daughter, Heather Mills of Decatur; parents, James and Charlene Merriman of Oxville; grandchildren, Faith M. Kilver, Autumn K. Kilver, Heather R. Mills, and Serenity Mills; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Vicki (husband, Bob) Shultz of St. Petersburg, FL and Susan M. Merriman of Jacksonville. One brother, David Merriman and grandparents, Bob and Georgia Bailey and Archie and Nina Merriman preceded him in death. Deb attended Illinois State University and MacMurray College. She graduated from the St. Johns School of Nursing and was employed by the Passavant Area Hospital as an registered nurse for several years before retiring. She was a member of the Oxville United Methodist Church, served on the Bluffs EMT squad, and coached the summer league junior high softball. She was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan, Conway Twitty fan, and Michael Jordan fan. Deb loved sewing, reading, gardening, and her dachshunds, Baby, Jasmine, and Buttercup. Most of all, Deb was a wonderful, loving “Me-Maw” to her grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to the West Central Girls Basketball or the Meredosia-Bluffs EMS.
