Nellie B. Tendick

June 15, 1921 - January 16, 2013

Nellie B. Tendick, 91, of Murrayville passed away early Wednesday morning, January 16, 2013 at the Passavant Area Hospital. She was born June 15, 1921 in Murrayville the daughter of Clinton U. and Sada A. Riggs Million. Nellie married Fred L. Tendick, May 31, 1942 at the Murrayville Methodist Church. He preceded her in death, March 14, 2009. Surviving are four children, Nancy (husband, David) Hall of Murrayville, Melanie (husband, Frankie) Wildhagen of Murrayville, Mike (wife, Teresa) Tendick of Naples, FL, and Janell (husband, Ronnie) Megginson of Murrayville; nine grandchildren, Edd Hall, Joe Hall, Amy Sipes, Sam Hall, Belinda Whitaker, Allison Northrop, Brock Tendick, Doug Megginson, and Luke Megginson; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hugh (wife, Joetta) Million of Carrollton. In addition to her husband, three brothers, David, James, and Joseph Million and two sisters, Esther White and Eloise Cain preceded her in death. Nellie was a lifelong dedicated member of the Murrayville United Methodist Church were she served our Lord for many years as Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, and was active in United Methodist Women until her death. Many will remember her warm smile as they went through the cafeteria at Murrayville-Woodson School where she worked for 40 years. Nellie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a Christian example to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loving generosity will be forever etched in our memories and our hearts. Some of the greatest joys in her life were her continued friendships with her pinochle ladies and getting together for a game of Rook with her family. She was a life long Chicago Cubs fan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19th, at 3:00 p.m. at the Murrayville United Methodist Church with interment in the Murrayville City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Murrayville United Methodist Church, the Murrayville-Woodson Food Pantry, or the Murrayville-Woodson EAS. The Daws Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
