Virginia Lou “Jenny” Bettis, 81, of Roodhouse passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at the White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center in White Hall. She was born Aug 11, 1937 in White Hall, the daughter of Truman Albert Ransom and Ines Sarah Richards Ransom. She married James Louis “Jim” Bettis, Sept. 5, 1955, in White Hall. Jim preceded her in death April 17, 2014. Surviving are her children, Michael L. (Jeanie) Bettis of Roodhouse, Doris J. (John) Isham of White Hall, Linda D. (Steve) Wilson of Glasgow, James W. (Sandy) Bettis of Roodhouse; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Two great grandchildren preceded her in death. She was one of four sisters and two brothers; Wanda Hester of Winchester, Ruby Bowers of Colorado Springs, CO, Linda Martin of Jerseyville, Ronald Ransom of Carrollton, and Stanley Ransom of Peoria. Jenny was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved working with her hands, raising flowers, and spending time in her daughter's-in-law greenhouse, she also liked cooking and sewing. She especially loved being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Roodhouse with interment in the White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Youth Fund.
