Wanda Jo Riggs (known as Jo or Joey), 81, of South Jacksonville, formerly of Murrayville went to meet her Heavenly Father July 8, 2013 at the Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born Mar. 7, 1932 in Ripley County, MO, the daughter of Joseph and Pearl O’Dell Anderson. She married Carl Riggs Jr. April 14, 1956. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 2001. Surviving are three daughters, Debra (husband, Rodney) Gaines, Karla (husband, Dave) Andrews all of rural Murrayville, and Kim Tighe (fiancé, Craig Miller) of Jacksonville; one sister, Bonnie (husband, Ron) Wood of Chatham; one brother, Bob Anderson of Alton, MO; five grandchildren, Justin (wife, Jessie) Gaines, Adam (wife, Amy) Davis, Brandon Andrews, Christopher (wife, Samantha) Andrews and Savanna Tighe; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jamison Gaines, Gunnar and Riley Andrews, Wesley, David and Virgil Andrews and Amira-May Muex; four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Martin Chapman; sister-in-law, Jeanie Anderson; and one nephew, David Alan Anderson. Wanda Jo graduated from Doniphan High School in 1950. She worked for the law firm of Rammelkamp, Bradney, and Hall as a legal secretary for many years before quitting to stay home with her daughters. She later was employed by Captial Records-EMI until retiring in 1994. She loved her beautiful flower garden, refinishing antique furniture, sewing and working puzzle books. Most of all she loved her precious family. Wanda was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 with the Rev. Larry Balthis officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Burial will be in the Murrayville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Manchester Baptist Church.
