Wilma Louise Mansfield Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wilma Louise Mansfield, 91, of rural Nortonville died Saturday, July 2, 2022. She was born, Aug. 27, 1930, at her home east of Waverly, to Charles and Gladys McCann Woolfolk. She married, David “Jack” Rochester Mansfield, Aug. 27, 1950, at the parsonage of the Methodist Church in Palmyra. He preceded her in death, Jan. 2, 1994. She was baptized, Sept. 17, 1973, by Rev. Ronald Brock, at her bother, Ronnie’s pond. She is survived by her sisters, Ramona Wood, Judith Dugger, and Melody Camerer. She is also survived by children, Rod (Kim) Mansfield, Steve (Cindy) Mansfield, and Kim (Jack) Fortado, as well as 10 grandchildren; Damon (Ashley) Mansfield, Kelena “Kelly” (Jeromy) Moore, Josh (Kristi) Fortado, Tyler (Jenny) Mansfield, Jake (Liz) Fortado, Jeremy (Kelly) Fortado, Alex (Lauren) Mansfield, Sam (Allison) Mansfield, Anna (Chris) Fromhold, and Kate (Eric) Hoene. She enjoyed having 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles “Sonny,” Harold “Bud,” Thomas, Ronald, Sharon, Michael, and David Woolfolk and one grandchild, Seth Mansfield. Wilma loved her farm, which was her favorite place to be. She loved her flowers beds, and each plant had a story as to where it came from and who had given it to her. She was a voracious reader and a master of games. She enjoyed being fashionable, had a beautiful smile and the best laugh. Wilma enthusiastically collected family pictures but did not like having her own picture taken. People who ate at her table (there was always room for one more) often commented on her fried chicken. She was a treasure to her family, whom she adored. She will be sorely missed. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Youngblood Cemetery near Nortonville. Memorials are suggested to Youngblood Baptist Church or Scottville Christina Church.
