C.Katherine Million

C. Katherine (Harp) Million, 86, of Jacksonville died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at the Passavant Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born Dec. 1, 1924 in Roodhouse, the daughter of J. Herschel and Cecile May (Edwards) Harp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Million and an infant son, Mark A. She is survived by children, Katherine L. (Dale) Potter of Manchester, TN, Joelle Million (Johannes Postma) of Longmeadow, MA, Gary L. Million of Jacksonville, Karla Y. Boyet of Farmington, NM, Karel A. Heinz of Jacksonville, and Krystal G. (Darryl) Christofanelli of Petersburg; nineteen grandchildren; Judith Webster, Rachel (George) Hamblen, Paul Potter, Matthew (Kim) Potter, Caleb Potter, Amos Potter, Susanna (Rickey) Causey, Jesse (Lori) Potter, Reuben (Treva) Potter, Tad Runkle, Sara Runkle (Gene Kennedy), James Million, Joseph Million, Autumn Boyet (Doug Stinton), Gabe Boyet, Zach (Chris) Heinz, Jake Heinz, Drew Christofanelli, and Elyse Christofanelli; nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Robert H. Harp of Jacksonville; sisters, Mary Ann Ranson of Franklin and Gerry Hanback of Murrayville; and many nieces and nephews. Katherine graduated from Murrayville High School in 1942 and married Joe Million on July 4 of that year. She was a former resident of Rockford, Murrayville, Rushville, and Franklin. Her final years were lived in Jacksonville. She was a sales representative for a number of companies and with her husband owned and operated Million’s Dari Bar in Rushville. After her husband’s death, she was owner-operator of Mode-O-Day dress shop and served as president of the Rushville Chamber of Commerce. Her volunteer activities included being a Girl Scout leader and an American Cancer Society fundraiser. After returning to Morgan County in 1993, she visited with her friends daily in her own little corner at McDonalds until becoming a resident of Prairie Village Health Care Center in 2009. Family will receive visitors on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Mackey Daws Funeral Home in Murrayville. Graveside services will follow the visitation at the Murrayville City Cemetery.
